Yarrows Family Bakers, one of the last and largest remaining independently owned bakeries in New Zealand, was founded in the small South Taranaki township of Manaia in 1923.
Proudly owned and operated by the third generation of Yarrows, our state of the art Manaia bakery operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, supplying an extensive range of breads, speciality breads, rolls, croissants, gourmet cookies and other quality bakery products to leading supermarkets, retailers and food companies throughout New Zealand and around the globe.
At Yarrows, we have a long standing history of blending the latest technologies with traditional bread making methods. We were the first bakery in New Zealand to install a mechanical mixer, one of the first to install an electric oven, the first in Taranaki to use a bread moulder and to install a flour silo. Pioneers in the manufacture of frozen dough products, we were the first New Zealand company to export butter based goods to the United States, in the form of frozen croissants. Today we continue this pioneering spirit, travelling the world to source the latest technological innovations and learning new baking and production techniques to ensure we remain at the leading edge of the bakery business.
